portable cd player for home use, which one?
« on: 2 Sep 2014, 01:18 am »
I have a collection of cds and I have a small t-amp-diy that I want to pair with (8" square).  I am considering using a portable cd for its size, but must have a ac adaptor since it will be mainly for bedroom listening.  Remote will be preferred but not necessary.

can someone recommend a reasonable make and model?

thanks,

Nothing that is a good solution.  Teac makes a wonderful small form factor cdp, but it costs $799, hardly C&C.  You might find a used Virtue Audio M1 Piano cdp, a very nice unit, but they're going for around $400 used when you can find them, not manufactured anymore.  Lastly, one of the smaller bluray players might fit your needs the best, spend $70 or $80 and take a chance on sound quality.

For about $130 on sale, Samsung BD-H6500. If you want to spend less, Sony 5200 or Costco equivalent can be found for under $100. There a Panasonic 360 which goes for around $100 too.

If you can wait a month I expect some blowout prices for Christmas.
