Tusk...WTF?! Where to even start.
« on: 24 Sep 2014, 05:29 am »
Sweet whistlin' Jeebus! :o  For reasons that elude me now I saw Tusk a couple nights ago. :?  Wow!  Just...wow.  The question isn't so much if this is the worst movie ever made but is it the worst film that ever can be made?  Heed my advice because it's an hour and a half of your life that you'll never get back- give this one a pass.  Instead, how about a DIY root canal without anesthetic?  Or maybe a nice hot coffee enema?

Well played, Kevin Smith.  I'm vaguely aware that you used to be somebody, now you're obviously somebody else.  Hope you enjoy my $8.75 and the money you raked in from the other 20 people in the US that saw this nauseating "film". :nono: :duh:

At least it wasn't about super heroes or comic books.

I went and looked up the plot. I'm upset enough about the last 2 min I spent on it, let alone going to see it.

Thanks for the heads-up. I was going to see it but I thought it was A Fleetwood Mac rockumentary. From the online trailer and description I'm still not sure that it isn't.

I heard roughly the same review from another person. Hell, I am still trying to figure out why I stuck with under the skin.

In retrospect I have no idea!  The kid at the theater told me he's seen in three times and that it was "awesome".  Presumably he saw it for free.  I didn't read the reviews first, just was bored and found myself at the theater.

I never saw that one but I doubt it could be as bad as tusk! Certainly Lucy was terrible, though.

So its a horror? Anyone actually into that genre think its good? Most horror gets bad reviews from most viewers or reviewers, unless one knows the genre, knows what to expect and sees the fun or 'art' in it --of course not ALL of of them.
Not saying I am disputing anyones thoughts here, just curious what a horror fan thinks of it... The trailer looks kinda bad though  :|

I know I had it coming!  I did not do any due diligence at all, unfortunately.  Yeah, as a rule I don't go see horror movies...ever.  Somehow I had in mind that this would be a psychological thriller along the lines of Misery.    It was more like Human Centipede remade for a community access channel.  To be clear, I probably deserved to get burned since I didn't hit Rotten Tomatoes before I went.  But I don't have a projector hooked up at home right now nor is the rest of my theater set up (long story for another day) so I see a movie almost every week, at least three times a month unless there's absolutely nothing showing.  I like movies so much that I'll willingly risk seeing a stinker now and again just to get out of the house.  I work FT and am finishing up my Bachelor's degree so a night at the movies is something that keeps me going.

But a stinker is one thing, a rotting carcass covered in feces is quite another! :x :o

Jersey Girl, Gigli, Red State, For your Cobsideration, Cop Out, Clerks 2, etc, I'm amazed he keeps getting money to crank out more trash that no one even sees. This guy makes Spike Lee look like Coppola.  I can honestly say he hasn't put out somethibg worth seeing in over a decade and I was a fan of Clerks, Chasing Amy, Mallrats and thought he had some promise and possible real potential. Now I regard him as a big fat phony turd.

KS is a dick and talentless hack. I told him as much on his now defubct website when jersey Girl came out and was promptly banned. He is incapable of making anything worth watching and I'm glad you saved people the experience with your excellent review. God I hate the guy.

Cheers

Just read Tusk is the first of a trilogy. Lets hope he films the other two on a home camera and only subjects his closest friends and family to the torture of having to view item.

How did he get Johnny Dep to be in Tusk? Does JD even read scripts anymore before agreeing to be in films?  Maybe smith's good buddy Ben Afflick was too busy ruining Batman to take the time.
