My OA Tempest Standart Preamp went and died on me!

Hi,

Hope Klaus or anyone of you here might have a quick fix for this. I keep my stratos amp on all the time and shut off my CD player (unison research unico cdp) and tempest when not listening. When I turn the two on for a session the tempest always had this short zip sound followed by a click or a relay and a small pop from the speakers. The CD player would finnish its tube warm up count down and I would be ready to go.

Yesterday though, the tempest did NOT make the relay click after the zip sound. It did not make a slight pop on the speakers. I tried turning it on and off several times and no help. The tempest makes the ziiip sound but the relay click does not follow. The whole system is dead now without a preamp! :(

My question is this: what kind of a repair job am I looking at here? I live in Finland and bought these second (or third) hand so I guess sending them to US for a quick fix is not an option here.

I know of this joint that repairs high end stuff but if the problem is a big one then maybe I should just try looking at a used preamp from somehere else?

Many thanks for the help.
