          Only heard this morning on NPR. His music will be missed, one fine keyboardist. RIP Mr. Sample.

I heard several of his songs on the radio in college. He was the reason that I started listening to jazz and told him so.

I got to see him after a concert and got him to sign the album/CD that got me started about 5 years ago.
