Hello.

Is there a thread in this circle (a couple/few would be okay) where all the various Omega speakers are discussed and comparisons offered?

If not, can you (Rob or Louis/anyone else knowledgeable) offer short explanations of the benefits and disadvantages of the different models?

And now...What makes the Hoyt-Bedford speakers special/different from the regular Omega speakers?

Thank you. I appreciate any help.

Michael

Hello Michael,

The best thing to do is give either Louis or myself a phone call.  We can cover a lot more ground on the horn than on the forum as it requires a lot of typing to cover this subject.

Louis: 203 847 2800
Rob: 250 495 0554

As far as the Hoyt-Bedford line goes, the Type 1.5 is being replaced by the Type Two (see picture, grill not shown, but it has one).  The Type 1 will only have a name change to Type One.  The Hoyt sub is identical to the deepOmega 8, so stacking a Type One on top is still an option for Type One/1 owners.  The Hoyt sub is essentially redundant and will be dropped.

Rob,

Thank you for taking the time to answer all my questions on a Saturday afternoon(!).

Given what I learned today, the Alnico monitors appear to be what I want in the Omega line.

I'm in the last stretch of my speaker selection. After my trip to Seattle, I will probably be ready to make a choice.
