It's basically just an update to the former Reference II series. They've dropped the Synergy name and are now calling it the Reference series. The former Reference II series is now the Reference Premier. I think it's kind of stupid, but stupid is bound to happen when you get bought out by Audiovox I guess.
I hope they don't call the Heritage series the Reference's Reference.

It looks like they took a cue from tweakers who were putting damping materials behind the horn. The new one is rubberized.

Yes, they've done more than change the name. I was just using the opportunity to jab at it. I like Klipsch and hope they can remain successful without selling out. The Reference Premier line is intriguing.
