Going and Gone

Time flies. In a few weeks my beloved custom VR-9 SE Mk2s will be gone. That pair started out as bespoke factory modded Mk1s, and were later upgraded by Albert and Damon right here in the Philippines to its current status. Those babies and I have had a lot of good times. In the meantime, I will be borrowing their evil piano black twins while I await the VR-11s towards the end of the year. That's the going part. I'll miss you Bronzie! Then again you are going less than a click away so maybe I won't!

As for the Gone, my EERA Tentation was picked up a few days ago. I went through too many CD players to count and this by far was the best redbook player I've ever had. It went for a demo and never came back. Well, I did say it was the best. Silver lining is that I have been using the EERA Autographe. This model is not on the EERA website. I call it Cor's little big secret, mainly because my very tall dutch friend never told me about it and I had to hear about it elsewhere. Bad Cor! Just kidding, you know I love ya man!  . It is a by order only model and as Didier puts it reserved for only his best clients, like Bad Cor   Didier assembles it himself and every unit is built only upon order. I rarely take leaps of faith. Didier is one of the very few for whom I will make exceptions.

ya but the 11's will be something else in comparison as you already know from own listening experience at your brothers, I'm sure the closer it gets the more excited you will get.

Any plans on different amplification to drive these, what did your end up with VAC & VTL combo.

Any thoughts yet now that you have the Elite arm, curious - did Jim also get one. He was using Joel's two arms correct.

Hi DEV,

I'm staying with the quad of Lamm M2.2s for the foreseeable future given that I've found the 6dj8s that really suit my tastes to a T. The only major movement may be the move to the Lamm LP1 Signature but I'm still saving up for that one. I have my Elite already but talk about a bummer, my HVACs are undergoing  repair and maintenance and I will be leaving in a few days. I just keep on looking at the box! I even took a picture just so I could torture myself while I'm on the trip.  :duh: My brother hasn't mounted his either. He sold his Black Knight and ordered an AF2 for his second table. The AF2 is still being built.

I'm looking forward to the twin increase in jump and ease having the added sensitivity and the almost doubling of driver surface movement I will get with the 11s. My room at almost 3000 cubic feet has always been just a little to large for the 9s to energize the way I want. Of course I was blissfully ignorant of this because I blocked it from my mind. Big $$$$$$$$ tends to do that to me.   I wanted the same but more of it. That is exactly what I get with the 11s.

Say David, you gotta give the TD carts a spin. I know you are a Matsudaira fan as I am. Turns out Nishikawa-san and Matsudaira-san have been friends for almost 40 years. Their offices are only 10 minutes away from each other. It's MY's motor genius mated with HN's vibration mastery. Give Bob G. a call.

Thanks Jack,

EERA's Autograph is their new secret indeed.
I had the proto at the show last year, this unit had a SPDIF input to connect external sources turning into music from the EERA DAC.
Lot of pleasure and musical enjoyment.

Hope Didier can speed up yours.

Jack old buddy, if you ever run out of space for all your incidentals...like these arms for example, I'd be glad to provide my mailing address  :thumb:
