"I get 45 percent better coverage from the same location"  45 compared to what?

Why not 57.4% - would make it a lot better selling point.

Compared to my wrt610n I get 45 percent better coverage.   I'm not selling shit, just trying to be informative.

Why so many people fucking rude.

Sounds like an ad to me, with price quotes, coupon options and "45% better", even the pics are stock. And sorry, not trying to be rude, but your 'informative' post makes me smile.

I picked up the competitor, the Asus version WRT-AC68R.  I doubt there is a lot of difference between the two.

I too noticed better wireless range, both on the 2.4Ghz and 5.0G ranges.
I had just swapped the wireless mini pcie card in my laptop to one that supports 802.11ac - and that's where I noticed the biggest difference.
I transfer photos from my laptop to the server via wireless (for convenience, sitting on the couch) and that is now as fast as wired.
Also my phone supports 802.11ac and using speedtest, I am no longer limited by wireless speed - getting the full bandwidth provided by Comcrap.
57M down, 12M up.

Plus I now have all sorts of cool options for QOS, traffic shaping, monitoring, etc.

We recently got the Netgear R7000, nice upgrade over our old Linksys, probably 46%.

My wife works in the field and has been hearing chatter that Linksys's quality has been going down, nothing scientific, just talk among technicians. Most of her co-workers have been getting the Asus. We had been talking about upgrading for awhile and had been reading up so when we stopped at worst buy for a cable she needed immediately there was the R7000 so we grabbed one. Those were the 3 units always mentioned when I was reading up. I do think the Asus physical layout is superior to our  Netgear.

Brad, jparkhur, and us, 3 happy campers. :thumb:
