Fascinating interview of Jeff Widener on Charlie Rose and his recount of taking "Tank Man" photograph on Tiananman Square.

Arguably one of the most important photographs of the 20th century.

It's easy to take these kind of photographs for granted.  But it takes brave people risking their lives to show the world what is happening. It almost didn't happen and I think if this photograph doesn't happen, there is no reference for "Tiananman Square" and therefore no media would be talking about it today.

IIRC, I read a newspaper article a number of years ago that said the gov't tracked this guy down and executed him - though no one can confirm or deny this.
