I believe that the BDP-2 is just about to ship with Manic Moose.  I also believe that there are some issues remaining with firmwear updates to existing customers machines.  This implies that there are hardware differences in the BDP-2 over time, how large are these.  What is the likelihood that the latest firmwear will ever be fixed and rolled out to "older devices"?  If you still intend to deliver this update for all BDP-2's  when do you think this will happen.

All BDP's that begin shipping at the end of the week will be shipping with manic moose.  We have had mostly positive results with older units upgrading to the new firmware.  There have been three instances were the upgrade wouldn't resize/repartition it's internal storage to accommodate the new firmware limiting function.

If memory serves all of these units where BDP-1's, with that said all other attempts with BDP-1 upgrades had worked with much success.  So if you would like to upgrade your existing system to manic moose feel free to but there is a small chance that we may need to remote into the system to make some adjustments afterwards.

We intend on coming up with a work around or a fix in the next few weeks and. Full disk image of manic moose that could be used to image it to a cf card using either a Mac or PC and cf card reader.
