These are very heavy for their size, and if you know Virtue Audio, these are high quality. They don't make them anymore, and I have two for sale. I have an interest, didn't know they ever made such a thing. The charging function is inoperative? Can you explain further? Price would be a determining factor...what are you pricing them at?

Hi - there simply is not charging which is probably much better from a fidelity standpoint. I'm asking $30 shipped.

I'm still not clear....the label indicates it is a charger. I would use this as a more or less permanent installation in my shop so charging would be a must.

Let me check. It might be why they stopped making them; he said something about licensing costs from Apple.

Apple changed the pin that charges their devices when they moved to making iPhones and iPod touches. So it will maybe charge an iPod classic (I use old docks with mine) but likely won't an iPod Touch. You basically have to try your device and see. On Head Fi there are directions for bridging pins with a resistor or something; I considered that but just use an older model instead.

I believe Virtue didn't design and make these themselves, but found a good deal on a nice dock and sold them.

Won't charge anything newer than Gen 3 unless you hook up the bypass jack in the back to a charging source

Not sure if Virtue means the included AC adapter; I'll have to ask.
