Shortly after attending RMAF 2013 where I was impressed by the sound in the GR Research room where Danny's new speakers were driven by a pair of mono Dodd EL84 amps, I purchased this amp - a battery driven stereo EL84 model making about 15 watts a channel.  It really sounded great, but just as Gary Dodd  was hospitalized the power supply went bad.  Unable to turn to Gary at that time, I sent the amp to a "friend of a friend" who upgraded some of the caps and converted it to AC power by building an external power supply with a huge toroidal transformer.  The amp sounded great - very impressive dynamics in particular, but it hummed way too loudly to use with my Lowther drivers.  I sent it back and he tried, but while he lowered the hum level, it is still just too much for my system.  The "friend of a friend" scenario led me to eat the loss ( I think I have spent over $1300 so far, not including the battery and charger which I can use elsewhere) without complaining and move on. Since then I have bought 2 more amps to play with and I just want this out of my house.  You might be able to get Gary Dodd to fix it, but that is up to you.  I will pay all fees, Paypal and Fedex ground shipping in the lower 48.  Sale is final - I guarantee only that it works and hums.  Sorry, but no questions about what I think is wrong - if I knew I might try to fix it but I am not qualified in any way to diagnose it - it HUMS.  Tubes included are all in good shape - JJ EL84s and Philips 6DJ8s.  Price is firm - it is worth more than that in parts.   glynnwilson@comcast.net

Did I mention it HUMS?
