That's one way to eliminate room acoustic problem.
That device (What ever you call it) is very directional,
therefore, you have to stand still, not very comfortable for human,
I don't know about your dog?

Guy 13 - no complaints so far! No, not mono, though I do like mono recordings (Beatles, Miles, etc.)

Charmerci - She has built-in fur dampener, so none on device required. I have so much ear hair, same will be for me.
