SALE PENDINGIt is with much trepidation and regret; that I think...I need to sell my Hegel H-80. Great piece; built-in DAC, punches above its rated 75wpc...cool, little remote. Hegel is really balanced IMO; smooth, yet punchy...non-fatiguing, yet still lively.
I was so impressed, with the H-70...that I picked-up
used; that I
immediately upgraded to the 80, brand-new...which is rare for me! So...while I liked this unit, very much; I also like toobs...lol. And I like my Main system, and Office rig...to be varied, to a certain extent. After all...what's the point of having 2 systems...if they sound exactly the same?
So...with the new direction, my Main rig has taken; I just can't find a place for this unit anymore. I thought about a Bedroom system, I'm putting together; but it's wayyy too good for that. So I better let this go to a good home.
Purchased, just over 2 months ago; from an authorized dealer. Drove the KEF LS-50s in my Office, quite nicely; and it was great, having the Squeezebox Touch there...be able to use the DAC on the IA, rather than need a 3rd box. So really; when I say "as new"...this is as close as you'll get, without forking over full retail MSRP.
As I said...I decided I wanted to keep tubes in the mix; so this even sat on the sidelines for a few weeks. Until I needed it, as "back-up" in the Main system. It sounded even better in
that rig; fed by Mytek DAC, driving PMC OB1i. It's certainly a capable amp. Pics to follow shortly.
