uhmm... could someone explain this to me?

I feel like this is one of those moments, that I should remember .

As if to remember when big data started recording every moment of our lives. I'm too old to care but I wonder about my kids lives.

Just think how different things are from just 20 years ago. And computing power is growing exponentially along with networking that data (Moores Law on steroids).

And where is art on this ? I haven't seen a decent sci fi flick showing us what daily lives might look like in this big data new world. I need some helping imagining this!! :o

I'm unclear how individuals taking pictures, no matter how many, is "big data".

It looks like a camera.

I saw something about this a couple of weeks ago on Google news.  It is a camera that snaps a photo every thirty seconds to record your travels and interactions with your world.  It is just a less expensive version of Google Glass because it does not connect to the internet and upload/download information.  It just captures stills then you download them to your computer and review later.  Seems to me it will be for those who have time to sift through tons of photos to build slide shows, etc.  I believe it comes with some sort of organizational software.

"Get a life".

Random thoughts:
- I wonder how many photos I'd have of my steering wheel during my 90 minute round trip to and from work
- When do I find time to process the photos worth keeping, and how long does it take to process a days worth of "time lapse"
- Looks like someone wished they had invented the GoPro, but missed that boat, so they came up with the next best idea. This.
- Is it always going to be in focus, and since it's swinging from my neck while I'm walking, will it always be blurry
- How many photos will have some of the main subject half off the image and crooked
- If you're fat, and your belly makes it point at an upward angle, will you always have pictures of ceilings and clouds
- If you're a woman with large breasts and it's trapped in between.......um......nevermind.

It boils down to this:  Why?

- I would suppose you'd have sense enough to turn it off while in the car and on when you are walking around.
- You are a trust fund baby and have no life.
- Agreed.  When I first saw this I likened it to a poor man's Google Glass.
- I remember something about it being autofocus and it doesn't snap until it is in focus.
- Good question.  Especially when I am running away from the angry grizzly bear.
- I resemble that remark.  Sometimes the clouds can be interesting shapes.
- I want to be the autographer that Chelsea Charms buys.  Just tell her that I'm one of those fall alert buttons.

Glad I could bring you a smile and a laugh.  You've done the same for me on occasion.

I probably went too far on #7 but I thought #5 was good.  You keep pitchin' and I'll keep swingin'!

Actually, this thing is perfect for time-lapse photography.
