Now up to $449, but honestly w/ products such as the NAD 3020 retailing at $500 w/ out a phono stage, and being more pedestrian looking, the $449 seems like a good deal. A lack of a remote is a bit of a bummer though.
The kickstarter thing is just good marketing to build up some buzz. I suspect over time more small high end companies will do it as well, if not for marketing purposes, to test market new products as well.
