I think in this case, visual appeal might cloud the sonic appeal.  The cut out frequency of the unit used to produce sound is in the 200s.  Very midrange oriented.  I always found a problem getting balanced sound from horn setups unless they have decent low end capabilities.  Sound balance is of great importance when you are listening critically but for casual listening might be fine.   So, it might be okay if you do a lot of casual, non critical listening.  Well, that is what I perceive from such design.
