Ayre V-5xe 2012 Stereophile recommended amp
Solid State 2 x 150 watt (300 watt into 4 ohms) per channel amplifier in perfect functional and almost perfect cosmetic condition. It's been in a pet free, child free, smoke free home, and used in a dedicated music room to drive Magnepan 1.7 speakers. Very natural and non-fatiguing sound, with convincing tonal color and body, almost tube-like with no solid-state harshness, and a 2012 Stereophile A-rated component. The only reason for the sale is I’ve purchased a more powerful amp, which the Magnepans respond well to, although the Ayre sounds VERY good with them.
The only marks I can find on the amp are shown in the pictures. There is a scuff mark on the top left edge, and an extremely faint scratch on the far left front. These blemishes are difficult to see even up close. I had the amp on a stand between the speakers and it looks beautiful.
The original box and interior packing are in good condition. Owner’s manual and power cord included. Box is 24 x 24 12 shipping weight is 65 pounds, ships from 98424.
