Visit with Klaus
« on: 1 May 2014, 02:40 am »
:D Easter weekend I, and my brother who lives in Indy, had a chance to spend about two and a half hours a Klaus's home listening to primarily his equipment. First of all the man is a great host, entertaining and very knowledgeable. My wife and I had driven from West Virginia to pick a pair of Khartago mono extremes and a Candela preamp on Good Friday. (It was probably cheaper than having everything shipped plus I wanted to see my brother.) We worked our schedule around Klaus's schedule and arrived at his house at about 8 PM. His equipment sounded incredible and is already starting to sound very good here at home. I think I have a relatively "good" ears as I sold high end equipment from the late 70s through the mid 80s and I have attended many CES shows in Chicago and several other shows including a couple Stereophile shows more recently. Audio has been a hobby and livelihood of mine for close to 40 years. The Odyssey equipment to me represents some of the very best sounding and least expensive 'musical' equipment that I have ever come in contact with. I have been fortunate to have access to some very good equipment over the years and the Odyssey competes very favorably with the best that I have owned. Right now the Khartago monos are replacing a pair of Clayton M100s and the Candela is replacing either my modified ARC LS 2B mk II or my Parasound JC-2. The amps are driving a pair of ML Quest Zs with new panels and new woofers which are less than a year old. I also purchased from Klaus a two meter pair of Groneberg interconnects and a four foot set of Groneberg speaker cables. I am already very happy with everything and I know that everything will be even better in about two months. I can highly recommend Odyssey Audio as an excellent sounding and well built product with a great warranty and Klaus as one of the very nicest and most knowledgeable manufacturers that I have had the pleasure to meet. The guy is a hell of a lot of fun and he knows what he is doing. I love music and Odyssey gets me closer than anything else I've owned.
