This amp is a single ended triode (2 x 845), tube rectified (2 x 5r4gy), class A integrated amplifier rated at 25w x 2. Made in Italy this is a no compromise design to rival the best of other Italian brands such as Viva, Mastersound, etc. The pre-amp stage (12ax7 x 2) can be bypassed through the HT input, although I find that the linestage easily rivals preamps that I have owned in the $3-5k range. The driver stage uses 2 x 5687 tubes. This is also the special edition with silver litz output transformers. Clarity, tone, and immediacy are this amp's strong points. Treble extension and speed surprisingly betters many of the solid state amps that I have owned. With the right speakers, dynamics and bass extension can also be incredible for a SET amp... one area where this amp definitely outshines its peers. Easily one of the best tube amps I have had the pleasure of owning (and I've owned quite a few) and I deeply regret parting with it, especially at this price. This amp is incredibly well built, solid, gorgeous, and weighs just over 110 lbs.
