Moving on Up - Sony A77 to Sony A99
« on: 5 Mar 2014, 03:46 pm »
Well... I bit the bullet yesterday and bought a Sony Alpha A99 Full-Frame Camera online. This will be replacing my Sony A77 with the Crop Sensor. I have enjoyed the A77 immensely, but I gave into the itch to go Full-Frame along with the other advantages of the A99. I have a collection of some very good, vintage Minolta glass that will fit perfectly on the A99. However, I will now need to start the precarious hunt for a daily, go to, short telephoto. There's lots of options, and the research will take some time... Any thoughts are appreciated.

Stand by... Hopefully photos will come soon, maybe even by next week. Oh boy!

Cool stuff.  I went full frame on the Canon side last year, and I really like it.

Sony makes some nice glass, as do the 3rd party folks - should be fun picking out the daily driver.

Hey!

Congratulation on the A99! It is a great FF camera and that's a good thing since it is the only FF DSLR/SLT Sony have right now.

I envy you. I'm still using the A700, it is now 6 years old I think  :icon_lol: Funny thing is that I do have good size collection of full frame Minolta's primes, Sony's Zeiss and G Zoom. Well, one of these day I will go FF.

Well, have fun and keep us posted.

Take care,
