I have an SP 1.7 & just purchased a new Sony blu ray player and connected it to the SP 1.7. When I watch a movie on this new blu ray player and increase the volume using the bryston remote on the SP 1.7 there is multiple pop sounds coming from the speakers when I increase/decrease the volume. I also get one pop when I hit the next button on the blu ray remote to go to another chapter in the movie.  The other components (CD, DVD and cable box) that are hooked up to the SP 1.7 do not do this.  Has anyone encountered this before?

How do you have the 1.7 connected to the BRplayer?

Via digital coax same as all my other components

Odd. Check around in the bluray player settings and see if anything sticks out that you could disable.

This shouldnt make a difference, but try using a different spdif input on the sp1.7, and try a different cable too. If those two things make no difference, I'd lean toward exchanging the player.
