Loss decibels. Ayre CD: Irrational, But Efficacious!

Hello to all posters of audiocircle.

My post is about what happened after I test the CD Ayre IBE. Hopefully someone can explain to me if this happens to all who try it, or just me and why. (Perdon for my english, it is a traslatión the Google).

In short, after listening to the CD and listen to my CD of music in general, the volume on my preamp. I had to go up considerably to hear it to levels above. I measured about the loss of volumen whit a decibel meter of RadioShack and has dropped between 4-5 dB. to the same volume.

Although the CD promises what it says, I can not believe that this low decibel is exclusively due to NOISE.

What is Happening?

thanks

From the website:

"The tracks on this disc were created digitally with 88.2 kHz, 32-bit resolution. Enhanced resolution transfer to the 44.1 kHz, 16-bit CD format was performed using 0.5 bits of dither with a triangular probability distribution function for maximum fidelity."

Likely the whole disc is recorded below maximum levels to increase dynamic range, the opposite of the loudness wars we become used to on pop CDs.  Ultimately it doesn't really matter what the setting on your preamp is relative to other formats or CDs, just what the output is to the power amp driving the speakers.  If you cannot achieve normal listening levels no matter what your volume is set at, then there may be something wrong with your copy of the CD.

OK, maybe I have misspoken. I expected to have an improvement in listening to my system when buying this CD, which actually occurs.

I'm not saying that the Ayre CD: IBE! this print to a smaller volume. All CD containing test tones, not music.

The low decibel mention has to do with my tracks from my library of music cd I have, after applying the Ayre CD: Irrational, But Efficacious!. I think it is important low volume and notorious (From 4-5 db less) on all my cd. What makes me wonder if I want to listen to live music with system noise but with more volume or listen to music without noise but lower volume. Implicitly say it has more volume means more spending power. This, by equating the listening volume I had before the upgrade with this CD.

Thank
