usb cable for buc-1 converter?
« on: 28 Jan 2014, 09:39 pm »
I just plugged a buc-1 into my system.  Wow!!!  What an improvement from the toslink out of my iMac!  My question is what usb cable have people had success with for the best sound quality?  I know it should be approx 4 ft to reduce reflections…Just wanted to commend bryston this was a major improvement for me…I felt the price was fair for the unit and I went for it.  I run this into a bda-1 dac.  The rest of the system is an audio research ls27 into 2 arc d400mkii's in mono to dynaudio contour s1.4.  I really enjoy the hobby and the sound keeps getting better!  Thanks for your suggestions in advance….

The one I have been using lately is the Totaldac USB Cable/Filter. It is astoundingly good. I have the Revelation and the Audioquest Diamond, and the Totaldac bests both of these in density, imaging, and is completely neutral from top to bottom.

Thank you for the reply!  The revelation I was considering so that's good to know.  I am running a cardas clear but it is too short so I'm looking for a replacement.  I have no other reference but the sound is quite good.  Mainly due to the converter I'm sure.

The Revelation is very good, and would be my second choice for sure, but the Totaldac is just.... :thumb:
