I am selling my amp and preamp looking to go simpler with an integrated amp. I've had the exact same system for three years, and it sounds great. Wife would like more space and less clutter. Plus I'm intrigued by the simple concept of an integrated. Here is some general information:
AMP: The Odyssey Stratos Dual Mono Amp is basically two monoblock amps within one large chassis. The amp requires has two on switches and requires two power cords. I believe the entire unit weighs over 60 pounds - a true beast. It seems on the Odyssey Website, they no longer make them in this form. Here is a link as they can be bought as two monoblocks (It is the same specifications)
http://www.odysseyaudio.com/products-stratos-mono.html. The amp powers my Sony SS-M9's and does so well. I wanted an amp that sounded stunning AND could handle a difficult to power speaker, and this amp fits the bill.
PREAMP: TAD 150 Signature Tube Preamp - This was my second tube piece - it has been in my system for a few years now. I have yet to find even one negative thing said about this Preamp. If you look at reviews online, they are glowing! The Preamp was the signature piece of Tube Audio Design, built by the famous Paul Grzybek - who passed within the past year. I've seen these become quite a commodity lately. It can handle two 12AX7, 12AT7 or 12AU7 tubes. It has a great phono section, AND has HT bypass - which I use often when the kids want a Disney Movie
It has upgraded tubes that were recommended by another forum member - but it was so long ago I don't remember what they are or who recommended them. They say Brimar 13S5 on them. I also have the remote which controls volume and can switch from CD to Phono, etc.
Both items come with stock power cords (3 in total - two for the amp, and one for the preamp).
I would like to sell Locally, but shipping is possible at buyers expense - located in 18045 - Easton PA. I have this system setup and rolling right now. If there are any looking to upgrade or go in a different direction, I'd urge you to stop by and hear it in action - I think you'd buy it on the spot if you did. I'd like $1725 for both pieces together.
