Emil, I owned this amp for a spell; and loved it. I'm a big fan of Steve's kit. I tried an RLD-1 once, as was pretty happy with its performance...at the price.
As for the DNA-225; it's an incredibly powerful amplifier! John Atkinson at Stereophile, is not really prone to exaggeration on the test bench...and here's what he found: 262 watts into 8 ohms, 430 into 4, and 795 into 2. As impressive as those numbers are...they are with both channels, driven continuously. He went on to further measure, "low-duty-cycle 1kHz tonebursts" which he feels generate "results that more closely resemble what happens when the amplifier is amplifying music". Those numbers? 303 watts into 8 ohms, 575 into 4, 1018 into 2, and 1532W into 1 ohm!
And it sounded that way too. In my system, it provided a real grip and command on the speakers; but never sounded etched or fatiguing either (when fed by a tube pre-amp).
Good luck with the sale!
