This is a James EMB-1000 subwoofer in the "granite" black finish. This sub uses a unique bass loading scheme that has dramatically lower distortion than most, and lists at $1500. It is outstanding with music, and very good with movies, particularly in medium size or smaller rooms. It is limited only by its output capability, which I've never reached in my use.
It is in very good condition (no dings or dents), works flawlessly, and includes the grill in perfect condition.

IMO this is one of the great sleepers in audio- it is the best small (~12wx12hx14d) subwoofer I've heard, and as a long time condo dweller I've tried many compact subs from the well known names- Velodyne, Carver, ACI, M&K, etc. I've used it with Thiel, VMPS, Selah Audio and Daedalus speakers, and will continue to use it in my best system in the future (I own 2 but only need one). This is the only one I've used that provides true deep bass that is musically on a par with the finest main speakers. The Stereophile reviewer used it successfully with Quad ESL-989s.
