BDP-2 vs BDP-1 Digital Player
« on: 3 Dec 2013, 06:42 pm »
Hi,

Does anyone have experience of both the BDP-1 and the BDP-2?  I'm interested in the general day to day usability of these products.  Is their UI responsiveness the same?  Do you notice the extra CPU power in normal usage.   I plan on using the player with a NAS.  They have the same NAS functionality, right?  And is there any difference in the Manic Moose OS on the two devices?

I'm not really asking about the future potential of these product ( BOT etc ) - just how they compare at the moment.

thanks
Ron

Hi Ron,

Both unit will perform identically unless you plan on creating a database of music in an excess of 30,000 songs.  At that point you may begins to notice the web UI of the BDP-1 to slow down.  They both support connecting to a NAS; however if your using gigabit throughout the, BDP won't be as fast to read in the database.

Cheers
Chris
