This is a battery powered 15 watt amplifier made by Gary Dodd that uses EL84 tubes. At the recent RMAF 2013 Absolute Sound picked the GR Research room as one of the Best in Show sounds and the amps used were Dodd mono EL84 battery powered amps. Gary advised me to get an SLA battery of at least 55 amp hours and said the more amp hours the better. I purchased a 75 amp hour battery and never came near draining it, playing for 4-5 hours at a time. This amp can use 6BQ5 or EL84 tubes. Front end can be 6DJ8, 6922, 7308, Russian 6h23 or 6n1p. Includes the 2 page manual, wiring to battery and currently has all JJ tubes with a couple hundred hours. As a $100 option I will include 4 GE EL 84s with about 20 hours in their original boxes matched at 1% and 4 Bugle boy 6DJ8 tubes that are used but test NOS at 90. Those are matched to 2% . Amp is 3 years old. Price includes Paypal and Fedex ground shipping in lower 48. And if you are in the area and want to drive to Shreveport Louisiana to pick up the amp, I will give you the battery, which cost me about $170. It weighs 50 lb and I had back surgery 2 weeks ago, so I cannot pick it up to ship it for several months. I don't know why, but this amp doesn't work with the new 10K Toruga Audio volume control = makes weird noises.
