2 Verbatim 5 ft. Power Cords, $150 each
« on: 14 Oct 2013, 09:27 pm »
These are Paul Garner's top of the line Verbatim power cords. Paul used to work for VSA and had Von Schweikert speakers in mind when designing his cables

. I bought them new from Paul and they are in still like new condition. I have the Von Schweikert VR4-jr Mark 3's which I'll also be selling in the near future. Unfortunately, I've gotten divorced and am having to downsize my beautiful system. I'm also now selling my Verbatim speaker wires. Thanks...Edward    My zip code is 33919. I live in For Myers , Fl. I just lowered the price.

Hello,
Any idea when you might be listing the Vr4-jrs?
Cheers,
KP

Hey KP. I'm thinking about trying to sell them very soon. I need to take pictures and etc. and put them on line. My beginning asking price will be $4,500. The VR4-jr's were $4000 new. The additional Mark 3 upgrade that Albert did cost me $3,000 included shipping. Albert thought about making the VR4-jr Mark 3's from scratch and selling them, but didn't think that he could ask less than $10,000 for them because of the increase in price for the cabinets and all. Albert thinks very highly of these speakers. It would be worth talking to him about them if you are interested. He only did around 15 each of the Mark 3 upgrades worldwide. With the upgrade everything inside the speaker cabinet was upgraded as well as all of the drivers. He added the triple layer wall inside which he has a patent on. The drivers are European and the cross-overs are new. I have a signed letter from Albert stating everything that he did for the upgrade. He stated in the letter that these can handle very loud volumes very well. I like playing the large crescendos of Beethoven's symphonies very loud. The speakers are very solid and amazing. The imaging and quality of sound are awesome. I love the way a solo violin floats beautifully above the speakers in air. Please let me know what you think. Thanks...Edward

Do you know how these are configured?  Wire or ribbon?  Two leads so I wonder where the ground resides.  Any insights to what they bring to table in sound?

Hey. I don't know much about how they were configured and such. They are wire cable, not ribbon. The power cables  and speaker cables by Verbatim helped bring a very extra wide  open and clear sound to my system with my already great VSA speakers.

Hey back-atcha musicelb,
Well, I am looking to buy but yours with the upgrades may be too pricey for me ... but maybe. I look forward to seeing those photos.
I'm with you on those Beethoven crescendos.
Cheers,
Kp

Hey Kp. Thanks for getting back to me. I'll try and go ahead and get some pictures posted and online in the next couple of days. I 'll definitely will take quite a bit less than the $4,500. That would just be my initial posting price. I was hoping to get like $4000, but I would go down $3,500 if the buyer pays for shipping. They are finished in dark cherry. They are beautiful speakers. There are a few minor cosmetic flaws. I tried using brass audio points in-between the bass cabinet and the upper midrange/tweeter cabinet once. So there are a few small minor scratches on top of the bass cabinet. You don't see them at all when the speakers are set up because they are hidden under the midrange/tweeter cabinet. I found that the supplied Von Schweikert hard rubber feet work the best. The speakers have a flat wood plinth that they sit on top of. The plinth is a flat stand that is about 1.5 inches thick. One of the screw holes on the bottom of one speaker (bass cabinet) that the screws screw into from  the plinth is stripped. There are four screws for each plinth. For the one whole that is stripped I use a little bit larger screw that works fine. I am sure that the stripped small screw hole could be replaced. I'm sure that Von Schweikert could fix it. I've thought about sending them to Von Schweikert on the way to whoever I sell them to, to fix that. Regardless, they look and sound awesome. I'm sure that Albert would take care of this with no charge. If we did that, I would pay for shipping to them to Von Scheikert. The buyer would pay for shipping from Von Schweikert to where they live. They are under new warranty from when I did the upgrade. But, if we didn't do all of that a little bigger screw would work fine and I could send you the one that I use. Sorry about all of this, but I need to tell you about it. There are also few small dints on the side of one of the bass cabinets that Von Schweikert touched up for me when I sent them in for the upgrade. When you see the pictures you will see that they look great. These small things is why I am asking less than I was hoping for. Thanks again...Edward

Hey Kp. I hope that I didn't scare you away with all of my over explaining everything. I tend to do that. Keep an eye out for the pictures. I think that you will see how beautiful they are when you see them. I'm going talk to Albert about what he thinks about the idea of sending them in to him if we decide to do that. I'm also going to ask him again what he thinks a fare price would be. If it's more than what I quoted to you, I'll stick by the price that I told you. When I checked The top of the bass cabinet, I saw that there are only a few indentations from the Audio Points, not scratches. It is not visible at all when the speakers are set up. I remember now that the scratches which are small are on the very bottom of the speaker which you don't even see. When I had the entire speakers without the plinth on an Audio Point Systrum stand, one of the speakers got knocked over. This was before I had the upgrade done. There were a few small dents on the side of the speaker but Von Schweikert touched them up when they had them for the upgrade. You don't even see them now unless you look hard for them. They are not even noticeable. Like I said,  Albert regards these speakers very highly. I will be talking to him. I'll let you know what he says. He is very personable and friendly if you ever have any questions to ask him. He is a very nice person. It will be a few days before I get the pictures up. Thanks...Edward
