Most of you probably know that Jack Duavit lives there.  Let's keep he and his family in our prayers..

We're safe Gavin, unfortunately thousands upon thousands were not so fortunate. It is truly tragic.

Glad to know your OK Jack.

I woke up to this on my home page..http://xfinity.comcast.net/articles/news-general/20131110/AS--Philippines-Typhoon/

Heck compared to Haiyan, Sandy was a bruise!

Our prayers and concerns to all affected by Typhoon Haiyan.

Thank you Rodney and Henry. The situation is quite dire. If there is one bright spot, it's that Filipinos are a lot less insular than we were even just a few decades ago and I see so many people from the unaffected parts of our country really going out of their way to help out. Everyday that passes however things just get worse. I'm praying and doing what little I can to help our countrymen turn the corner even just a little bit quicker. A few years ago my own province was hit by a flood that displaced hundreds of thousands. I thought I knew the feeling until I saw the news. This makes our tragedy look like a pool party.
