The beginning of the end, that's what Eliminator was...the little 'ol blues band from Texas gets above it's raisin', buys some sequencers and rides the MTV wave.
Hope they at least made some good money because 'cuz from there on in they sho'nuff made some lame music...Never was an album more aptly-named than Recycler. Rclark, give a listen to Tres Hombres and hear the real power and the glory...

MTV killed ZZ Top, IMHO, and I was about fifteen years old when MTV came out, so I was the prime MTV demographic.
To take it one step further....

I still love Tres Hombres on LP.

Been fortunate enough to not hear this album overplayed. I bust it out every few years (literally), and it always impresses.

One of those albums where the name and cover match exactly what you're getting inside.

Love how the first three songs just "blow the doors off"  . Favorite track is "TV Dinners." Wish I'd been part of the scene when it dropped. I'm sure it eliminated a lot of rock albums of the time.
