The BOLDER Cable Company is VERY proud to announce that we will have a special guest in our room at the upcoming Rocky Mountain Audio Fest, October 8, 9 & 10.

None other than the man, the legend....

BRIAN CHENEY

That's right, Big B is coming to Colorado!

He is also going to be sending out a pair of VMPS RM-30s for use in the BOLDER Cable Company demo room.

Not just any pair of RM-30s, these will be in awe insipiring ROSEWOOD.
They will have the new MegaWoofers, Auricaps and whatever else Brian feels like putting in there

Big B has mentioned to me that he would like to go take a listen to a few VMPS owners systems while he is in town. Maybe do a few tweaks here and there.

If you haven't made your reservations for RMAF yet, DO IT NOW!!! http://www.audiofest.net/

Come up the the BOLDER Cable room and meet the big guy in the flesh. Hear the latest and greatest VMPS has to offer and maybe get a few pointers on tuning your system.

Here is a link to the rest of the gear that will be used in the BOLDER Cable Company demo room:

BOLDER Demo Gear

We WILL be running show specials on VMPS and BOLDER Cable Company products, so bring a full wallet.

Wayne,

Will you be carrying the jjaz product line?  I'd love to hear a biamped 2x1000w ICEmodule'd configuration on the RM/x.   If the amps do tour the US, sign me up, I'll compare them to the Rowland mono's.

The JJAZ product tour will be determined after the show.

I have been thinking of sending the amps around to one person in each of the various regional circles. That way a group of folks can audition them.

I am still talking with the JJAZ folks about selling their products in the US.

I hadn't originally planned to attend, but this is sounding pretty interesting!

I will happily request the amps for the NY Audio Rave.

We have a few of the digital amps that are out there right now:

Rowland 201's
AR 150
H20

Are the Rowlands still at the top of that list (in terms of sound)?

Not sure where or who has the list, but the Ampzillas are certainly up there for many.

I have heard a lot of amps with VMPS and none "sounded really bad".

Plinius, Classe, Pass, Audire, CineNova, Ampzilla, Bryston, CinePro, ADCOM, ATI, Aragon, Jolida, Citation, and many others I have heard did a great job.

I have even heard them with Sherwood NewCastle, Yamaha, and Harman Kardon Receivers and they sounded pretty sweet. (for HT)

Very soon (as soon as my SOA arrives) we'll be doing some A/B listening with the Rowlands and the AMPZilla (Son of) to get some  more "in depth" impressions.

Y'all will probably think I'm crazy, so be prepared with your barf bags for this info :).  I went the cheapo route for amplification for my RM30's.  Preamp is the $600 NAD C162 and the speakers will be biamped with a pair of Outlaw Audio M-200 mono amps per channel.  Total cost for the 4 mono amps was $1148 shipped.  Amps will be on the floor right behind the speakers, resting on cutting boards bought at Target .  They'll be connected to the speakers with a couple of feet of 10 ga zip cord from PartsExpress.  Interconnects will be about 15 ft long, consisting of Belden 89259 with Canare crimp-type RCA plugs.  "Howls of derisive laughter Bruce!"  This weekend I'll be setting the whole thing up.  We shall see...

Eventually I'll replace the amps with ones of my own design and construction, but that will take a couple of years probably.  In the meantime, the Krell KSA-100 that I've had for 19 years will be collecting dust, as it's way too big for the tiny living room of my apartment.  If there's anyone in Colorado that wants to pick one up cheap (I won't ship it), I might be willing to part with it.

I don't want the amp but if you're willing I would like to hear the setup once you have it all up and running nicely. Always enjoy hearing different systems and meeting new folks.

I meant at the top of the list provided by George.  I'm going to passively biamp my RM40s with a JR #10 on the mids/highs and two channels of a Bryston 9B.  I'm sure it's going to sound good once dialed in (heck, my Linn 5140s sound great using this, and the RM40s are vastly superior to the Linns).
