Hi Everyone,

It gives me great pleasure to announce that in conjunction with Bryston, PMC Speakers, and Heed Audio, HiFi Lounge will be showing at the National Audio show at Whittlebury Hall on September 21st and 22nd.

This is certainly going to be an interesting one as I have never done anything like this before, although I have been to a lot of HiFi Shows over the years, but not in my widest dreams did I ever think I would be exhibiting at one.

We will be in room S5 on the ground floor and will be showcasing the PMC Fact.12’s with a full Bryston rig comprising of a pair of 7B SST2’s, the SP3, and the BDP-2 and BDA-2 combo. We will be rotating this system with a Heed Audio/PMC rig which will include the PMC twenty.23’s and the Heed Obelisk Si integrated amp with the X2 power supply and Heed DAC, so showing 2 fantastic sounding systems at very different price points. Just thinking about it I will try and squeeze the BHA-1 in as well with a selection of High End Headphones :)

So if you are already planning to go to the National Audio show it would be great if you would like to pop in and say hi, I’m sure we can get the room sounding pretty decent, and if you weren’t planning on going I would really recommend it as it is a proper HiFi Show unlike, Bristol which is mixed with a lot of AV. Myself and Wendy went last year, we were only planning on going for one day but it was so much fun we went back on the Sunday and still didn’t get round to seeing it all. It really is mad to think that last year we went as punters, this year we are going to be exhibitors, it’s a mad world :)

Also for the show weekend only we are offering 10% off any Bryston electronics, PMC Speakers or Heed Audio equipment or Atlas cables that we will be using at the show to hook everything up, so it is a good opportunity to save a few pounds.

Please pop along to the National Audio Show’s website for more information and hope to see you there -

Sounds like a fantastic weekend  :thumb:

I'm starting to realise that it is going to create a lot of work and I'm going to have to pull my racks to pieces to move all my Bryston kit over to the show.

Fingers crossed it will be worth it though and we can make a good sound, if the room doesn't sound too good we could always concentrate on the BHA-1 and headphones :)

We've Got A Bigger Room For The National Audio Show!

Hi Everyone,

Just a quick update, Really busy at the moment planning next weekends HiFi Lounge showing at the National Audio Show in association with PMC speakers, Bryston and Heed Audio, in a moment of madness we have decided to now take on a room that is 4 times bigger than what we originally planned :o which is slightly scary, but equally exciting, especially as it will really give the 2 systems that we are planning on running a real chance to sing.

We will now be situated in the Vale Suite on the first floor showcasing the awesome new PMC Fact.12’s driven by a full Bryston rig with 600 watts per channel and the more modest Heed si amp with x2 power supply and PMC 23’s which will sound equally as impressive considering the more modest price.

So next week looks like a busy one, what with van rentals to organise + pulling the HiFi Lounge demo rooms to pieces to move a lot of our demo stock over the Whittlebury hall for the show.

Being HiFi Lounge’s first show I am equally as nervous as I am excited so hope to see some of you guys there for what promises to be a lot of fun :)

Oh yeah, don’t forget that we are also offering 10% off any PMC speakers, Bryston or Heed Audio Kit purchased at the show or until the end of the month if you come and say hi and what with PMC Golden ticket promotion meaning you could actually get a pair of PMC Twenty speakers for free if bought before the end of October, so it really is a great time to come and have a listen.

Anyway see you at the National Audio Show :)

Cheers,
Paul.

Hi Guys,

In a last minute decision I have decided to take along the BHA-1 and a selection of our headphones to this weekends National Audio Show to show how damn fine the BHA-1 is :)

As I will be using the BDP-2 in our main system the headphone rig will use the OPPO 105 as the source with a USB HDD attached which should work quite well.

Please see list below, if anyone is coming along be great to say hi -

Sennheiser HD800

Grado PS1000

Fostex TH-900

Beyerdynamic T-1

Stax 4170 System

Audeze LCD-3

HiFiMan HE-6

Right, I guess I'd better start boxing everything up.

We’re All Set, Ready & Raring To Go For The National Audio Show!

Hi All,

Well it has certainly been a long, tiring but very rewarding and exciting few days as we have been getting ready and setting up for our first HiFi show as exhibitors. There have been a couple of small issues to contend with throughout  today as we have been setting up, but nothing that couldn’t be overcome and now I feel confident that we have done all we can to present at the National Audio Show with a room that sounds pretty damn good. Initially the Heed and PMC twenty.23 system worked out the box and sounded really lovely but the PMC Fact.12 and Bryston rig needed a bit more work, eventually though after playing around with positioning and moving some sound panels around they are really singing now :-)

The biggest shock of the day was opening the door to the Vale Suit where we are situated for the next couple of days and realising how big our room was and then deciding which way to fire the kit, in the end I think we chose right, we also set up our headphone rig but I fear that may interfere too much with our main system with noise leakage from the cans so that may have to become a static display.

Anyway here are a few pictures of the last day, I can’t wait till tomorrow when everyone starts arriving, I guess I’d better start thinking about what to play, I tried some Rammstein before leaving and that really rocked, although that may empty the room rather than fill it, need to sort out something a little more pleasing for everyone, but if you do want to hear some Rammstein then please do ask :-)

Hope to see some of you tomorrow :-)

Anyone see where our HiFi went?

Ah there it is.

It was looking like we were going to need a bigger van.

Now that is a big room, fantastic.

Time to get busy.

The start of a system.

Then a couple of hours of chaos.

Now we are getting somewhere.

Outside our room.

All ready for action :)

Cheers,
Paul.

When did you & Wendy find time to document the move in pictures?!

It was fabulous to see you both, as always.  The room was amazing, and the sound was terrific, regardless of the equipment being used.
It was fantastically busy, too.  So it's just as well that there was ample space.  Best room in the house, period.

Thanks Guys, it was certainly hard work but very rewarding, I have been told by some customers that on other forums we are getting some great feedback which makes it all worthwhile, personally I have been too scared to look.

Good to see you on Saturday Kyri, a PMC/Bryston fan if ever there was one :)

A Big Thanks To Everyone Who Came And Said Hi At The National Audio Show!

Well we survived our first HiFi Show as exhibitors and I just wanted to say thanks to everyone who supported us and came along to say hi, it was great to see so many of our customers and friends along with meeting so many new people interested in HiFi, all in all it seemed like a great show, although I only got to see 2 corridors, a lift and 4 walls for 3 days there seemed to be a really good turnout with our room being packed many times with standing room only on both the Saturday and Sunday.

Yes it was a lot of work but more importantly it was great fun, there really is nothing better than playing music all day and talking HiFi :)

A hotel really is quite a harsh environment in which to make a HiFi sing but I think we did a pretty reasonable job, not perfect, but we got many comments from people saying that it was one of the best sounding rooms at the show, which is all you can ask for really, saying that with PMC, Bryston and Heed it shouldn't be too difficult really to make a great sound.

Now all that is left is to un-box everything and make the shop look like it used to rather than a store room, so once again, thanks to PMC, Bryston and Heed for all their help and support and everyone who popped in to our room, hope to see you again there next year.

Here are a couple of pics of the room in action -

Now the painful bit, time to pack it all down, thanks to Ross & Wendy’s Dad for helping, it actually ended up not taking that long.

Next year we are just taking a portable radio to demo :)

Cheers,

Paul.
