What are you working on right now?

Bicycle, car, motorcycle, boat, airplane, you name it.
Anyone smacking things around with the Magic Hammer?

I took today off after the great push to get the Purple Nurple back on the road but next week...

Nobody but me?

The Magic Box arrived, is installed and set up.
Great stuff.

Not working on it yet, but when the weather cools down a little (109F here), I will be changing the oil on this beauty and after almost a year of recovery from surgery, I'll be riding her:

And then, I really, really hope to get this SV650 back running and get on the race track again. Racing was just way too much fun:

I raced in CCS for a little bit, but I just want to get on the race track again and just tool around.

The top bike looks kind of brutal.

Nice 1st Gen SV Maritan! GSXR fork? I had a tomato SV for a few years, it never saw the track though. Good luck. Nice MV too!

Yes, that bike on top is quite the Brute. Loves to be ridden fast and out in the open - if I have to be behind vehicles she starts heating up. It's quite crazy.

Low.pfile - Yes, 2003 GSXR forks. Penske shock on the back. I decided to put the SV on the track after it was totaled. Twice. Long story, so I won't bore you with it unless you want to know what happened. Racing the SV was so much fun. If you have a track nearby, you should at least try a track day. I think it's actually safer than being on the street - everyone is going the same direction, no oil/ sand/ debris etc. to speak of. You have to trust your fellow riders, but that's a little easier to do than trusting drivers that cut us off.

Steve - So what does your magic box do? ECU?

Just tinkering mainly. I bought my son his first car, a deal I couldn't pass up, so we're playing around with a bunch of little silly items making it look, feel (and smell) like new.

Yes, that's a Race ECM (or ECU) for the White Lightning, it really wakes the motor up.
Part of today's project:

A new front isolator for the Purple Nurple which is a bit of a project to install.
Bike up on rear wheel stand, off with the tank cover, remove tank, put a jack with a block of wood under the crankcase, undo the two isolator locating bolts, remove the center isolator bolt, lower the motor down, pop in new isolator and reassemble.
It's a bit smoother now but they're still Shake and Bake until you're doing at least 65 MPH so this is not a good city bike at all.

I also popped on later turn signals which spiffed it up a bit.  That was fun...

Say, I think Harbor Freight is having a sale on New Car Smell in a can right now, buy 3 and you get the 4th one free.

Good old Harley Davidson, putting out engines with paper gaskets which eventually shoot out into the open air.
They had been at this for 99 years and still hadn't quite figured out how to make a gasket...

Gaskets are so......old skool.....

Now-a-days, we just glue engines back together. (seriously)

The Devil is in the details and I just repacked the Vance and Hines canister for the Purple Nurple, have to let some JB Weld dry over night and then tomorrow I can shoot the body of the can with some high temperature black.
Nobody else is beating on cantankerous old piles with a hammer?
