Endler Audio Stepped Attenuators - both sold
« on: 28 Aug 2013, 06:30 pm »
I have one  Endler Audio stepped attenuator still available. [The RCA attenuator has been sold] One is single-ended; the other is balanced. Each provides 12 db of attenuation in 24 ½-dB increments. They are superb at circumventing room node anomalies or equipment anomalies to achieve an accurate center image in a two channel system. By inserting the stepped attenuator inline between one channel of the preamp and power amp, it gives you the ability to precisely center the stereo image. This is vastly superior to a preamp’s balance control which can move the sound in one channel to the other channel, thus defeating the recording engineer’s efforts to create a stereo image. Instruments stay firmly placed where intended and the soundstage will also improve. These are the original version of Scott Endler’s stepped attenuators. His current version sells for $100. I’m asking $40 per attenuator inclusive of PayPal fee and USPS flat rate box priority shipping/insurance.
