Does your top plinth layer feel a tad grainy? And is your ball black?

Yes and the bottom plinth layer is shiny and reflective.  I thought I did read somewhere about the GTAa.  I just can't seem to find it.

Finally, we've made progress. ( sorry, I couldn't find your table photo anywhere).
YOU have the beloved GTA.  Congrats!  And hang onto it.  You can upgrade cartridge, phono stage, system, just don't get rid of that table...
