Mike Fremer posted the above title on his Analog Planet web site.  He went on to say that he enjoyed the sound in the Odyssey room at Capital Audio fest very much.  Although the equipment was pretty much unknown to him, he surmised that the sound of the Khartago mono blocks, Lorelei speakers, Candela tube preamp and Groneberg cables was a true high end system that sounded better than most of the other systems he heard at the audio fest.

Kudos to the entire Odyssey team for continuing to design and build very high quality equipment that people can actually afford.  Well done.

I spent time on both Saturday and sunday in the Odyssey room at the Capitol Audio Fest,i listened to the system with a wide variety of music from rock to classical to world music ,needless to say I was very impressed. i have known Klaus since 2004 and we became very good friends but i had never had a chance to meet him before. it was a honor to meet the man. i lost my Lorelei's and my Candela in a house fire and to be honest i still miss them both.

what are you proposing as a source? :?

I run a Canary Audio CD200 as a transport with a Black Cat silverstar 75 digital cable to a modded EE minimax DAC.

I agree with him.

it was a honor to meet the man.

Same here.  I bought the Candela preamp for a secondary system at the show (breaking it in now and put Synergy HiFi tubes in it).  I read about Odyssey stuff for years.  I did find his Indiana accent a bit different too. :green:  I've also corresponded and spoke to him since the Audiofest and he will be building me a rack (that Klaus really knows how to do a rack :thumb:) and speakers stands to match for the new place I will be in sometime early next year.  I was really looking for a rack to me my requirements (height to fit under a projection screen) and found out he was doing one for someone else and went up to talk to him.  Great guy.

I agree with him.

I also posted I thought it was easily the best bang for the buck here: http://www.audiocircle.com/index.php?topic=110813.140

Funny, I hadn't noticed an accent.  But I went to college in northern Indiana and know those from southern Indiana do have an accent.   :P

Not surprising, Klaus & Co. always have excellent sound, just watch out for those bear hugs.  8)

The GIK stuff was nice in the room too (and I've had exposure to it at Scott Dazzle's_.  After the move I will be reviewing (and taking out the RTA and driving myself crazy) and using what I have and getting new stuff likely to get the new room set-up (it is like starting all over).

And here is another small post from Jacob (TAS) who was with Michael in the room together...they listened for quite some time actually....
