I bought a pair of Klipsch Fortes about 3 years ago. After extensive research and consultation with a really cool audio guru, I built two outboard crossovers with some of the finest quality parts available, including:

Mundorf silver and oil caps
Deulund resistors
Huge North Creek Air Core inductors
North Creek Wire
Crites autotransformers

The level improvement over the stock crossover is incredible. Prior to this venture, I did not understand just how much of a difference a quality crossover makes in the final sound of speakers. Frankly, I've learned that even in multi-thousand dollar speakers, they almost never spend more than a few hundred dollars on all the crossover parts.

These are "outboard" crossovers. However, they could be mounted in the speaker fairly easily. Better still they can sit behind the speakers or with the tops on, you can use these as "risers" for the speakers. In fact, some Klipsch fans prefer the Fortes on a platform from what I've read.

There's about $900 in PARTS cost into these crossovers. I am seeking $525 obo for the crossovers.

Feel free to ask questions. I have more pictures. The cell phone in one picture is just to show you the size of the inductor.

Thanks.
