Has any one seen the new "HELLBOY" trailer, it look's awesome. It's another comic book character, I seen some of his book's (DarkHorse) in the early 90's but never read them.

Planning on catching a preview screening on Monday. Will let you all know if it sucks or not (hopefully not).

Never read any of the comics as I couldn't stand Mignola's art. So I don't know much about the story other than what's been shown in the trailers.

Take this from someone who's never read any of the comics...

Ok, if you plan on seeing it, you'll be pleased.

If you thought it looked at least mildly interesting, go see it.

If you thought it looked like it might not be a total waste of your time, go see it.

One of the better films I've seen in many months. As I was watching it, I was thinking that I can't wait to have it on 5" (and I'm not going to wait until it streets, I'll tell you that now). I'd been happy to watch it immediately again, even though the sound was horrid at that theater.

Nope. The presentation in the theater sucked, and a camcorder copy isn't gonna help it out any.

Thanks Bubba,

I'll be seeing it  :D

I picked up a BestBuy HellBoy special preview disc and
the short soundtrack on it was great.

Hmmm...I just read Roger Eberts review of Helloboy.  3 & 1/2 stars! :o   Maybe this is a good one after all.

Just came back from seeing it with my 13 and 11 YO sons.

We all liked it.  We saw it in a brand new theater..this is it's opening week, and the projecters are all digital.  I don't know which kind, but they are good enough to show concert simucasts, but not as good as George lucas wanted for Star wars I was told.

Anyway, I don't ever remember seeing such a great picture in a theater EVER.

I'm glad I did not take my 9 YO daughter as I think it would have been too scarey for her.

I enjoyed the movie immensely.  DTS theater and all.

Man, does the video on the DVD suck.  Looks like another one of those purposely overcompressed jobs so that when the SB is released later it'll easily look better by comparison...

Bubba... Del Toro had already anounced that he was going to release a 3 disk set this winter.  I hope that it will not suffer the same fate.

Yeah, now the sound is fine, but the picture sucks. Just the opposite of most of my theater going experiences (as the picture wasn't always so hot in 35MM).

Just can't get a damn decent overall presentation... :shake:

Yeah, me too. I can't stand overcompression.

I picked it up last night and thought the PQ was out standing, to the
point of being reference quality. The low end was dam good too.
