... oh and crossed over at 40hz to an SVS Ultra Plus 2 subwoofer.

Thanks

When you say "crossed over at 40hz" to a sub:
1.  do you mean you have a highpass filter on the sub (at 40Hz) which you are feeding your main amp with?
2.  or are you running your 3.6s full range and simply rolling off the sub at 40Hz?

If #1 then you are indeed taking some of the load of your main amp.
If #2, you are not.

Cool bean's, thanks Davey. Andyr, I have my Integra's pre-pro bass management set at 40hz, which can be bypassed in direct mode.

Sorry, TT - I have no idea what you mean (in relation to my #1 or #2).  :o

Don't what to tell you Andyr, my pre pro lets you run the mains full range which mine are not. I send 40hz and below to the sub, for stereo, Dolby Digtal, DSD etc...However sometimes I like the system to play without the sub, Direct mode bypasses the bass management, hence then they are full range.

Ah, OK - so in your normal music mode, when the sub is in circuit, your main speakers are being rolled off at 40Hz.  (So, yes, you are running my #1 and relieving your mains of serious low-end duty.  :) )

Thanks,
