I know some have changed from Au24, and have gone to other cables.  

What did you change to, and why?  

What are the differences?

Does it sound like a cable?  Every single cable I have ever put in next to Au24 sounds like adding a cable to the system, whereas Au24 sounds like no cable.  I don't want to lose that.

I have to go balanced and I don't want to get KILLED in Au24 at DOUBLE the price just for balanced.

I would try VH Audio's Balanced Pulsar ic's.  These have replaced my Argent Audio Pursang ic's (the Argent were excellent but double the price of the Pulsars).   The Pulsars had the edge in the bass and overall presentation, but the Pursang has the absolute best top end I have heard.

Since you are trying to save some cash, the Pursang will not work for you.

I used to have an all Audience setup, but ultimately found them lacking at the extremes.  When you listen to the Audience you don't necessarily hear their weaknesses.  Once you hear other products against them it will become very obvious (at least it did for me).

BTW, Chris offers a 60 day trial period, so you really have nothing to lose.
