Spin the garage sale roulette wheel
« on: 15 Jun 2013, 01:14 am »
You never know what you might get when you go to an advertised moving garage sale that states they have vintage speakers.

Most of the time, I have seen clapped out Bose, Pioneer,  or Jensen speakers that died ten years prior and then guarded the garage. However, this morning was a different story.

One is a dark walnut,

the other is a mahogany.

And they both busted my chops getting them into, and out of, my Volvo S70, and then into the house. Dead lifting 110 pounds is not for the faint of heart. :icon_twisted:

So what JBLs are these, riddles Batman...?  :o

Nice find, awesome Huge cabinets and drivers. I love JBL and miss my 2245H 18" subs I had back in the 80s. The only experience I have with 16 ohm driver's is when I accidentally wired the bass driver's in my subs to 16 ohms in my bi-amp system. The output was to low and would not match my mains. If you can get the sound level you like with the 16 ohm drivers I think It's a great find.

Steve tried, but Liam bushwacked him and said the speakers stay. BTW, what is this mysterious amp, praytell?
Are we talking about one of these Line Magnetics, with the big glowing tubie things?

I don't know if this is Liam's "Make my day" look, his "Someone stole my cake" expression, or his "Would you please bring that 845 amp down here" beg and plead play.

I'm glad Liam claimed what was his.  He is my hero...
