Aleph L AKSA 100 combination
« on: 6 Mar 2005, 05:10 pm »
I have almost built a modificated pass ALEPH L preamp and I while I am waiting on AKSA 100 I am thinking how good will be this combination.

Got anybody any opinions?

Rimljan,

I hung off on this question, hoping someone might just have heard the combination....

My own preference for an AKSA preamp is something with a tube, like the GK1, because the harmonic structure of tubes is particularly musical, and complements the SS slam and detail of the AKSA very nicely.  However, that said, Nelson Pass has greatly influenced my thinking over the years, and I generally accord with his design approach.  If the preamp uses single ended circuitry (and NP has only gone balanced with his super symmetry topology in fairly recent times) then I would say it would be a good match.

However, I've been wrong before, and only an audition would settle this one way or the other.....  I'm sorry, no black and white answers!

Cheers,

Hugh
