FREE: Sony Hi-Fi VCR & NEC Surround Sound Processor

Put the final touch to your classic setup with a Sony SLV-795HF Hi-Fi Stereo video cassette recorder and a NEC PLD-910 Surround Sound Processor.

I used this setup before the invention of the DVD and had many wonderful movie nights with friends watching rented VCR movies on a 19" CRT TV with 4 channel surround sound. As far as I know everything still works perfectly but I no longer have VCR tapes to test it all out.

The NEC PLD-910 retailed for $1000 in 1989 and features a "built in Dolby Pro-Logic Surround Decoder that creates a listening experience that is as good as or better than that in a theater". The built-in L-R independent 16-bit digital delay circuity with digital filter dramatically raises the quality of Dolby Pro-Logic and Creation Surround.

Stereophile  August 1989, Volume 12, Number 8, has a review of the NEC PLD-910 on page 144.

Both units come with remotes and manuals.

Price: Free. Don't even think of asking me to ship, the price isn't worth it, I'll drop these units off at Goodwill first. Pickup in Tucson, AZ.
