I've never heard it myself, but I remember the Outlaw Audo RR2150 Stereo Receiver getting good reviews.

Add the other usual Japanese brands to the mix, e.g. Yamaha and Onkyo.

Push up the price a bit and you can get a Music Hall audio piece.

Check out Accessories for Less for good prices on refurbished Marantz items. I have never used them though so can't speak to their reputation.
