I am wondering if anyone has compared the sound quality between the Bda 1 and Bda 2. I don't care about the extra features on the 2. My current Bda 1 is connected to my Wadia 270 transport and the transport will be the only source.

I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on what kind of improvement in sound quality might be expected if I trade in the 1 for a 2.?  My main interests in sound quality are the soundstage, accurate frquency response,  ultra fast transient response and phase accuracy, accurate dynamics.

Any thoughts and experiences would be very helpful.

its not a big difference but it is audible, the BDA-2 is plain and simple smoother. in some systems I could see the BDA-1 sounding better. I guess it depends on what you are looking for. I will replace my 1 with a 2 as I prefer the smoothness.

In my system the BDA-2 sounded better across all of the parameters that you mentioned.

You should read the Absolute Sound review of the BDA-2 in the current issues...it is bang on for me in regard to the differences..
