Is the RM40 made up of two RM2?

Is it true the RM40 is made up of two RM2s literally joined head-to-head.  If this is true then the RM2 should have the same sonic quality as the RM40.  Just a little softer at the same volume setting.

No, RM40 are not 2xRM2s. RM40 has 2x25cm bass driver, one of them megawoofer, plus one 25cm passive radiator in slot loading at the bottom. RM2 has one 30cm megawoofer and one 30cm passive radiator. RM40 cabinet is thus narrower and also deeper. Overall, RM40 is a better speaker in every way, except RM2 has an advantage of having stronger deepest bass. Tonally, if set up correctly they may sound very similar to each other. Advantage of larger VMPS ribbons is they always have a lower distortion and more convincing soundfield than smaller ones. RM2 has that advantage of going slightly deeper than RM40 and RM30. RM/X has it all.
