Van Alstine Ultra II EC Preamp w/remote SOLD

Preamp was upgraded to the Ultra II with the newest Exicon mos-fets in August of 2011.  The upgrade was $500. The balance of the three year warranty is transferable to the new owner (08-2014).   I modified the top to reveal the tubes vs. installing lower profile tube sockets when AVA made the change from 6N1P to the taller 6CG7 tube.  I also used 6CG7 to 6SN7 adapters & there is plenty of clearance around the 6SN7 tubes with the cover installed.  Preamp will come with EH6CG7 and 12AX7 tubes.  RCA clear tops, & US made Raytheon black plates were the best 6CG7 tubes in my system.  Black Treasure CV181-Z were the best of the 6SN7 variety.

Preamp has the remote control and phono options, original shipping box & manuals.

$975.00 includes shipping from zip 04092 and paypal fees.

SOLD

I seem to remember reading that the Ultra II upgrade bypassed the tone contols. Is that true?

Thanks, Garth

There is a button to bypass them completely if desired and this is how I have always listened to it, pure direct from the source.

As per my owners manual, "the Tone push-button activates the tone control circuits when pushed in.  When NOT engaged, the preamp has exactly flat response because the tone controls are then bypassed."
