Does anyone have advice regarding if FedX Ground can safely ship Maggie 3.7s assuming properly packed? If any concerns, do you have a freight shipper to recommend?

Thanks!

Must have just been posted re: I check every day. Says will not ship but I'll reach out to see if he/she can be convinced otherwise. Thanks

Jay:
I would recommend calling Magnepan.  If you don't have shipping boxes, they can sell them to you and, of course, you can ask who they ship their speakers with.  I have two pairs of Maggies (MG 1.6 and MG 10) that were shipped with advice from Magnepan and both arrived in great shape.  Unfortunately, I don't remember who the shipper was...  Good luck!

Mike,

I'm the buyer<g>. That said, the seller has the full set of boxes. I was just wondering if anyone has experience shipping 3.7s (large) via Fedx vs a more traditional frieght company. Thanks

I bought some MG12's from a seller in Florida (I'm in Louisiana) and he shipped them FedEx. He had modded them with external Xovers and also the Mye stands. It was quite a load when the FedEx guy started unloading all the boxes. IIRC, the Mye stands were in wood boxes and also the Xovers but the Maggies themselves were in probably the original cardboard boxes. Very compact and all in great shape.

But of course you never know. Definitely insure the shipment and as someone above said, Magnepan themselves ship their speakers.

Ever since I got mine, all I can think of is what must the 3.X versions sound like. Very addicting, the Maggies! But whenever I fine some at Audiogon, the seller is always a long way away. There's a guy in Phila. that has some 20's for sale. He doesn't really want to ship them and I really don't want to take the risk either. But renting a truck and driving up there is out of the question. Maybe it's time to move!  :duh:
